Christian Vieri of Italy had likened Iniesta to Harry Potter ahead of their match, which is now over. The two teams (who are heavyweight champions in their own way) met Yesterday and sadly/incredibly Spain suffered a very surprising loss to Italy.
Spain, who tried to defend their title, didn’t seem to succeed. I am pretty sure they were high on confidence that they will conquer Italy, after all people thought highly of them; they were even one of the tournament’s favorite.
Although after that previous loss to Croatia, people had some doubts.
Vieri, who had earned 49 caps for his country, Italy, labeled Spain to be “the strongest team at the Euros” as he thought of Andres Iniesta to be a wizard.
Vieri told the Mirror
“For me, he’s like Harry Potter. He does incredible things on the pitch. I’d say that I have not seen a player like this in over 30 years”
For real though?
Seems like he will be reminiscing over those words now, and taking them back.
Andres Iniesta is just one man, he doesn’t have four arms and we cannot blame the loss on him. Even harry Potter had some backup during the Quiditch Cup.
Vieri had previously said “It’s a really difficult game for us. In reality it would not have been much better to not have to face them now.
“For me Spain are the strongest team at the Euros”
Well well well, that wasn’t the case when the D-day came now was it? Now I don’t mean to be coy about this, but “Harry Potter” didn’t pull through this time. Ha! Seems like the dementors got the best of him.
At the end of the day, we all still love and acknowledge Spain. they tried and I personally will always love them
Italy had the last laugh, Vieri point wasn’t validated, we are still watching the Euro 016, what else? Life is beautiful.
